David Robert Loblaw calls himself an actor /writer.
His career is notable for overlapping roles: memoir writing, theatre, acting, screenwriting, television development, podcast/radio, and community work. His written work uses dry humour and tragic honesty to explore personal experiences, family, aging, and life on the Canadian prairies. He is best known for his two tragicomic memoirs, especially "David G Grade 3", which humorously and poignantly recounts growing up Catholic. Both books were finalists for the Sask Book Awards (2019, 2023.) Loblaw adapted his memoirs into successful one-person theatre productions for the Regina Fringe Festival in 2019 and 2026, the latter being the most attended show of the year. Happily returning to acting full-time in 2025, he has had a range of on-set experiences, from commercials to TV series & feature films. Often cast as 'old man with dementia' or 'old man with rifle,' he wishes to one day combine the two. |
